(Lincoln, NE) -- A Lincoln man is arrested after thousands of dollars were stolen from an elderly family member.
Lincoln Police say on April 6th, officers were notified of a fraud report. Investigators say the reporting party stated their father, who was 85 years old at the time of the report, but is now deceased, was missing $50,000. LPD says further investigation found that a family member, 61 year old Paul Sheldon, had been impersonating the victim to the bank over the phone.
Police say on 18 separate occasions, Sheldon directed deposits into separate bank accounts. The total loss reported is $50,300. Sheldon was arrested on charges of Theft by Deception and Senior Adult Abuse.
