(Undated) -- Nebraska continues to have the lowest unemployment rate in the country.
The Nebraska Department of Labor says the state’s unemployment rate dropped to 2% in March, down from 2.1% in February. Nebraska and Utah are tied for the lowest unemployment rates in the country at 2%. The 2% rate is also Nebraska lowest unemployment rate ever recorded.
Nebraska industries that saw the most growth were mining and construction, leisure and hospitality, and trade, transportation, and utilities. Neighboring Iowa reported an unemployment rate of 3.3% in March, down from 3.5% in February. The national unemployment rate in March 2022 was 3.6%.
