(Omaha, NE) -- The search is underway to find people to sing the National Anthem at this year's NCAA Men's College World Series.
On Thursday, College World Series of Omaha, Inc. launched its nationwide talent search of national anthem singers for the 2022 CWS. Unlike 2021, when videos of performers were played on the big screen at the ballpark, the National Anthem performers will sing live and in-person at Charles Schwab Field Omaha this year. Applicants are required to send a video submission, as there will be no in-person auditions. The opportunity is open to any soloist, duo or group in the country. The deadline for submitting applications is 5 p.m. on Friday, April 1.
Submissions must be a cappella, may not use voice enhancements, and cannot have been filmed over a year ago. Applicants must complete the online form at cwsomaha.com and submit a video link. Video files will not be accepted.
Seventeen performers will be selected to perform – with 14 guaranteed to sing the National Anthem and three additional singers scheduled for “if necessary” games. Winners will receive tickets to the game they are performing at but will need to cover their own travel costs. CWS of Omaha, Inc. will notify the 17 winners by mid-May.
The 2022 Men’s College World Series runs from Friday, June 17, through Sunday, June 26, or Monday, June 27. For more information, visit cwsomaha.com.
