(Lincoln, NE) -- A Nebraska corrections officer is facing charges, accused of trying to sneak drugs into the state penitentiary.

Investigators say 34 year old Edgar Gomez was trying to sneak marijuana and meth into the prison in a beverage can with a hidden compartment. The Nebraska State Patrol alleges that Gomez had done it several times in the past successfully. Gomez bonded out, posting 10% of a $100,000 bond.

He’s due back in court in March.
