(Omaha, NE) -- A man accused of kidnapping a woman and her baby makes a court appearance.
29-year-old Marco Tapia is charged with kidnapping and burglary and had bond set at $250,000 during his Thursday court appearance.
Police say Tuesday night, Tapia entered a woman’s home who has a protection order against him. The order also lists her children, including their three-month-old child. Investigators say Tapia reportedly threatened to kill himself while holding their child. Police say Tapia left the home with the child, with the woman following them out the door out. All three left in the woman’s car before police arrived. Police later found the man, woman, and child at a hotel in Bellevue after she asked staff to call the police.
Tapia was also arraigned for two counts of three-degree domestic assault, false imprisonment, and theft by unlawful taking with another bond of $250,000. He has a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, March 29.
