Man dies from injuries sustained during assault at Old Market bar

(Omaha, NE) -- A man critically injured at an Old Market bar Saturday night has died.

Omaha Police say 41 year old Rodney Pettit, of Lawton, Oklahoma, died Monday morning from injuries he sustained during an assault at Parliament Pub at 12th and Harney. Police say officers were call to the bar around 11:45 Saturday night for a disturbance. Once on the scene, they found Omaha Fire Department medics treating an unconscious man, later identified as Pettit. He was taken to Nebraska Med with life-threatening injuries.

22 year old Nolan King has been arrested on charges of 1st-degree felony assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony in connection to the incident. Investigators say they are now working with the Douglas County Attorneys Office regarding amended charges against King.
