(Sarpy County, NE) -- A La Vista mother is sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to felony child abuse resulting in injury.
A Sarpy County judge sentenced 25 year old Sara Hartman to five years of probation and 60 hours of community service following the death of her one month old child earlier this year. Hartman was originally booked on one count of felony child neglect resulting in death on January 9th. That day, La Vista Police reported finding the one month old boy dead in Hartman’s care after receiving a 911 call for an unresponsive child. Another child, a a 16 month of baby, was also found alive in a crib at the time.
Hartman's original charges were amended due to the guilty plea.
