New UNO A.D. To Be Formally Named

The University of Nebraska Omaha schedules a news conference for 2:30 Monday afternoon to formally introduce the Mavericks' new Director of Athletics.

Media reports and sources indicate the Athletic Director will be Adrian Dowell, who currently serves as the Assistant Vice President and Associate Athletic Director at Creighton University.

Dowell has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health & Human Performance and Sports Management from Roanoke College and was a captain of the men’s basketball team.

The new Omaha A.D. will replace Trev Alberts, who earlier this year returned to his alma mater, the University of Nebraska, to take over as Cornhusker Athletics Director.

Since the departure of Alberts, UNO's original Hockey Coach and current Senior Associate A.D. Mike Kemp has been running the Omaha Athletics Department.

Kemp, a member of the Omaha Hockey and Omaha Sports Halls of Fame, is the chair of the six-member NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Committee..

Omaha Chancellor Dr. Joanne Li, University of Nebraska System President Ted Carter, and UNO student-athlete Nolan Sullivan, a junior forward on the Mavs' hockey team, will give remarks.
