Ice Skating To Commence On Med Center Campus In Omaha

As Thanksgiving brings in the Holiday Season, the University of Nebraska Medical Center announces its outdoor ice skating rink will be open Nov. 27th through Jan. 30th.

The rink, which is open to the public, is just east of 42nd Street, between Emile Street and Dewey Avenue, on the north side of the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education.

Admission is $7, which includes skates, cash or credit card only.

The hours are: Monday-Thursday: 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Friday & Saturday: 11 a.m.-10 p.m.;

Sundays: 11 a.m.-8 p.m.;

During campus Winter Break, Dec. 20th through Jan. 9th, open skating hours will be : Sunday-Thursday: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The rink will be closed on Christmas Day.

On Christmas Eve, the rink will close at 5 p.m.

It will be open New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, regular hours.

If the actual air temperature is zero or below, the rink will be closed.
