South Omaha Murder Suspect Makes Court Appearance

During an initial appearance in Douglas County Court Wednesday, a judge denied bond to the 18-year-old charged with the murder last weekend of 61-year old Jolene Harshbarger.

Prosecutors accuse Daniel Dejaynes-Beaman of assault with a knife and sexual assault.

Dejaynes-Beaman is charged with First-Degree Murder and felony use of a weapon.

Police found Jolene Harshbarger Sunday morning in a home near 20th and "Y" Streets, immediately classifying the death as suspicious.

A preliminary hearing is set for December 14th.
