Nebraska State Patrol trooper finds over 130 lbs of pot during traffic stop

(Hamilton County, NE) -- Two people are arrested after over 130 pounds of marijuana are found during a traffic stop.

The Nebraska State Patrol says on Friday, October 22nd, a trooper saw a Mitsubishi Outlander following another vehicle too closely on eastbound Interstate 80 near Aurora. The NSP says after pulling the vehicle over, the trooper detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The state patrol says a search of the vehicle revealed 132 pounds of marijuana in several duffel bags in the rear of the vehicle. The trooper also located a loaded handgun in the passenger door compartment.

The driver, 24 year old Darius Rice, and passenger, 21 year old Alexus Webber, both of Columbia, South Carolina, were arrested for possession of marijuana – more than one pound, possession with intent to deliver, no drug tax stamp, and possession of a firearm during a drug violation.
