(Superior, NE) -- The Nebraska State Patrol releases the names of the victims of a Thursday afternoon workplace shooting in Superior.

The NSP says 60 year old Sandra Nelson, of Formoso, Kansas, and 53 year old Darin Koepke, of Hadar, Nebraska, were killed at Agrex Inc., a grain elevator in Superior near the Kansas border. Investigators says Sandra Nelson was pronounced deceased at the scene. Darin Koepke was flown to Bryan Health West Campus in Lincoln where he was later pronounced dead. A third victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the hospital in Superior and released Thursday afternoon.

The state patrol says just before 2:00 Thursday afternoon, 61 year old Max Hoskinson, of Superior, went to Agrex and began shooting at workers. The NSP says Hoskinson had been fired from his job earlier that day. Investigators say after the shooting began, an Agrex employee retrieved a shotgun from an office and returning fire, hitting Hoskinson. Hoskinson was pronounced deceased at the hospital in Superior.

In a release, the state patrol said, "In consultation with the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office and the Nuckolls County Attorney’s Office, no charges are anticipated in relation to the employee who returned fire in protection of himself and other innocent parties present at the time of the incident." The names of other individuals involved in this incident are being withheld at this time due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.
