Joro Spider Horizontal

The Joro Spider (Nephila clavata) is a native of Japan but has recently cross the ocean and taken up residence in Georgia. It one of the two Golden Silk Orb Weavers, spinning a large and complex web from golden silk. It is not harmful to humans. This is a horizontal view.Photo: Getty Images

This spider has invaded! It's from Asia and most likely got here in a shipping crate. It liked what it saw and decided to make America it's new home.

Scientist say it may be a good thing because it eats bugs. I say if it's so good why didn't it originate here??

First time I see one here, that is the end of my lawn mowing days.
