Officers went to the area of 123rd and Yates, north of Blondo, around two a.m. Wednesday and spoke with 35-year-old Patrick Soukup, who said he approached two juvenile males who were attempting to break into a vehicle.
Soukup yelled at them, and they fired a gun at him.
Investigators say Soukup suffered a non-life threatening injury with Omaha Fire Department paramedics treating him at the scene.
Police say the suspects fled in a black four-door vehicle with a spoiler.
