The National Weather Service says strong thunderstorms will develop over western Nebraska and Kansas today, then push east tonight.
Damaging winds will be the main threat, especially over southeast Nebraska.
The hail threat is lower, but not zero;
WOWT 6 News Chief Meteorologist Rusty Lord says clouds increase this evening with showers and a few storms possible as early as 9 p.m.
Rain and storm chances then increase overnight tonight with the strongest storms and heaviest rain likely between 2 a.m. to 5 a.m.
