Creighton University on Friday ceremoniously breaks ground on a new residence hall for incoming students.
The $37 million project is expected to be finished in time to welcome 400 freshmen to the Hilltop campus by the fall of 2023.
Located on Burt Street, south of 23rd Street, the university says the new Creighton residence hall is the first residence hall built exclusively for first-year students since the 1960's and the first new residence hall of any kind on the Creighton campus since 2006.
Site preparation for the new residence hall began this past Spring.
