Sarpy County law enforcement agencies announce the creation of the "Sarpy County Force Investigation Team."
The team was created through a collaborative process with representatives from the Bellevue, LaVista, and Papillion Police Departments, the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office, and the Sarpy County Attorney’s Office.
The focus will primarily be officer - involved use of force cases that result in serious injuries or death.
The team will receive specialized training in that area.
Members of the unit will not take part in investigations that involve their own department.
