The fire broke out Sunday morning near Florence Boulevard and Clark Street.
The fire department says no injuries were reported, and investigators say the house was vacant and had been the scene of previous fires.
Firefighters say as they pulled up, they found the second and third floors burning.
With the place being vacant in mind, firefighters say they took a more conservative approach in fighting the fire and brought it under control in 45 minutes.
