More Storm Cleanup In Omaha Metro Area

Thunderstorm winds in the 60 MPH range and lightning early Wednesday morning make for a familiar scene in this Summer of 2021 in the Omaha/Council Bluffs Metro: tree damage and power outages;

Power crews have been busy; At its peak,12,000 Omaha Public Power District customers were without electricity;

The Omaha Public School District reported that Omaha South High School was without power, so remote learning is in place for Wednesday.

WOWT 6 News' Chief Meteorologist Rusty Lord reports the strongest recorded wind gust was in northwest Omaha at 64 MPH at 12:55 a.m.
