WOWT 6 News' Chief Meteorologist Rusty Lord says it is any new development Friday evening that could bring severe weather to the area.
He says storms that first develop Friday evening will likely be west of the metro roughly in an area from Norfolk down through York into far southern Nebraska.
Individual cells within that broken line will likely move northeast through the area.
Hail, high winds, and tornadoes will be possible with these storms as they first develop to the west of the Omaha Metro.
As the line moves east, the tornado threat will likely go down, but some large hail and high wind gusts will remain a possibiity.
