16 year old charged in friend's death will stand trial as an adult

(Omaha, NE) -- A 16 year old accused of shooting and killing his friend will be tried as an adult.

Marion Harris is facing charges of First Degree Murder and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony for the death of 18 year old Travell Mountain at Levi Carter Park on July 4th. No trial date has been set yet and Harris continues to be held without bond.

Investigators believe Harris and Mountain went to Levi Carter Park together. Police say a large group of people appear to have gotten into an altercation while at the park, Harris then fired into the crowd, hitting Mountain. Harris turned himself in four days after the shooting.
