(Ames, IA) -- The host of The House with the Magic Window kids show on WOI-TV has died. Betty Lou McVay Varnum died Wednesday at the age of 90. Iowa Cremation says Varnum passed away after living a wonderful, vibrant, courageous, loving and impactful life. Betty Lou hosted Magic Window from 1951 through 1994 and it became the longest running children’s television show in America. She has been laid to rest in Ames.
