Based on information from a fisherman, who told deputies he may have seen something belonging to a small child, the body of 7-year-old Avi Gurung was recovered from the Missouri River near the Interstate 680 Mormon Bridge Thursday evening.
Omaha Police had said in an update earlier that they had confirmed the boy had last been seen in the water, so crews were concentrating search efforts there.
The investigation into the death continues, although police have confirmed no foul play is suspected.
The child disappeared Tuesday evening along the Missouri River at N-P Dodge Park in North Omaha.
