(Omaha, NE) -- The ribbon is cut on Omaha's first protected bikeway.
The Market-to-Midtown bikeway will be open for an 18-month pilot period, during which Bike Walk Nebraska and Metro Smart Cities will be collecting data and feedback to determine the viability of more bikeways in Omaha. Bikeways create separate spaces for people riding bikes and scooters, driving cars, and walking, while also leaving room for parking. The bikeway runs from 10th Street to Turner Boulevard on Harney Street. Unrelated construction in downtown Omaha has delayed completion of eastern portions of the bikeway though.
Users can give feedback on their bike way experience here.
