The Omaha Public Power District reports they hope to achieve 98.9% restoration by 11:59 p.m.Thursday and 99.5% restoration at the same time Friday.
The utility says the final customers needing to get back on the grid have more complicated repairs and the added burden of needing to hire private, bonded electricians to complete work on their property before OPPD can complete its work.
OPPD says they now have a record number of crews on the job with more than 900 workers in the field now, including employees and mutual aid crews.
At its peak, the storm knocked out power to 188,000 customers early last Saturday morning.
