The Douglas County Sheriff's Office in a news release Wednesday confirms deputies have started a criminal investigation within the Elkhorn Public School District.
The Sheriff says a complaint asserts an inappropriate relationship occurred between a staff member and a former student.
The Sheriff's Office says the school administration is cooperating fully with the investigation.
No further details are being released until the investigation has been concluded.
The school district has said Elkhorn South band teachers have been placed on administrative leave, and all summer band activities at the high school have been suspended until further notice.
