(Scribner, NE) -- A crash on Highway 275 near Scribner claims the lives of two adults and two children.
The Nebraska State Patrol says the crash involving a car and a semi was reported around 9:45 Thursday morning just east of Scribner. The state patrol says two adults and one child died at the scene. A second child was transported to the hospital in Fremont where the child died. Investigators say all four fatalities were from the vehicle. The driver of the semi was not injured.
WOWT 6 News reports that initial reports indicate that the car may have tried to pass another vehicle on the two-lane highway when it hit the semi.
Investigators are working to identify the victims at this time. The NSP says family relationships of those involved aren't known at this time. The investigation remains ongoing. As of Thursday afternoon, Highway 275 is closed in the area and the state patrol says it will likely remain closed for some time.
