City of Omaha pools to have modified schedules due to lifeguard shortage

(Omaha, NE) -- City of Omaha pools will operate on modified schedules this summer due to a shortage in lifeguards.

The city says there is currently not enough staff to properly maintain and safely monitor swimmers at all facilities each day. The city's Parks and Recreation Department says recruitment of lifeguards will continue, and as staffing numbers reach the necessary levels, pools will be opened for more days or to the levels initially planned.

As it stands, pools will be paired together and share staff to properly manage each facility.

Below are the updated operating schedules. You can find more information on when locations will be open and operating hours here.
