The search will continue for a missing La Vista boy with autism as the Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District begins to lower the water level at the Walnut Creek Recreation Area in Papillion to help in the search.
11-year old Ryan Larsen disappeared a week ago today.
Dive teams and searchers finished preliminary searches Saturday night after focusing on this area for several days.
Many agencies have assisted with the search for Ryan with dive teams, expertise, high tech equipment, air support, and specially trained K9 units.
Investigative agencies and hundreds of volunteers have been searching throughout La Vista and surrounding areas for the last week.
Searches focused on Walnut Creek when a K9 picked up a scent there.
Lowering the water level by a few feet will allow search teams better physical and visual access of the water at Walnut Creek.
