OMAHA, Nebraska -- Three neighborhoods in West Omaha could become part of the city.
Mayor Jean Stothert says the three, newly proposed annexation sites would add about 250 people to Omaha's population.
The areas up for consideration include:
Whispering Ridge West SID 549 southeast of 180thand Maple
Northridge SID 560 northwest of 180th& Pacific
156th& Fort adjacent area
Mayor Stothert says the city already provides emergency services to all three areas. Police Chief Todd Schmaderer and Fire Chief Dan Olsen have signed off on the package.
The city projects it will collect an estimated $5,033,152 in revenue.
They say property owners in those areas will get information in the mail next week.
The plan goes before the city planning board on June 2, with a City Council vote set June 29. If passed, the annexation would be effective July 27th.
This is Mayor Stothert's eighth annexation package since 2013.
