No bond for teen accused in fatal Westroads Mall shooting

(Omaha, NE) -- A judge orders a 16 year old murder suspect to be held without bond on Monday.

Sixteen year old Mekhi Woolridge-Jones faces four charges, including murder, in connection to a Saturday shooting at Westroads Mall that left one person dead and another injured.

Prosecutors say Woolridge-Jones shot and killed 21 year old Traquez Swift and shot at a girl as she was trying to flee, hitting her in the foot. Woolridge-Jones' public defender said the boy is bi-polar. A preliminary hearing will be held May 26th to determine whether the case will go to trial.

Police also arrested 18 year old Brandon Woolridge-Jones on Sunday in connection with Saturday’s shooting.
