NSP investigating apparent murder/suicide in rural Gage County

(Gage County, NE) -- An apparent murder/suicide is being investigated in rural Gage County, Nebraska.

The Nebraska State Patrol says two people were found dead at a home rural Gage County, near Blue Springs, Tuesday morning. The NSP says the Gage County Sheriff’s Office originally responded to the 911 call regarding two deceased people, and then called in the Nebraska State Patrol for assistance once they were on the scene.

The state patrol says at the home, investigators found 49 Jason Arnold, of Blue Springs, with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and 40 year old Brooke Koch, also of Blue Springs. NSP says Tuesday morning, Arnold failed to appear in Gage County Court for violation of a protection order, prohibiting him from contact with Koch.

NSSP says following preliminary investigation, the case is believed to be a murder-suicide. The investigation is ongoing. Autopsies were scheduled for Wednesday morning.
