(Lincoln, NE) -- A death investigation is underway after a man was found dead in a Lincoln home on Monday.
The Lincoln Police Department says just after 11:00 Monday morning, officers were called to a home in the 4200 block of North 20th Street after a door was seen being left open for an extended period of time. Once inside the home, officers found 33 year old James Shekie dead. Investigators say Shekie's death is considered suspicious in nature and is being further investigated.
An autopsy has been completed and next of kin have been notified.
Lincoln Police say because it is so early on in the investigation, there is little information they can release regarding the case. Investigators said they’re working to see if Shekie lived at the home, if he lived there alone and whether there was forced entry into the home, all of which are questions that have not been answered yet.
This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information can call (402) 441-6000 or Lincoln Crime Stoppers at (402) 475-3600.
