"Husker Nation" Remembers A Cancer Fighter

Andy Hoffman, known for helping raise millions for childhood brain cancer research, passed away from cancer on Monday.

He was 42.

Andy Hoffman , co-founder of the "Team Jack Foundation," was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in July and had been undergoing treatment.

He dedicated his life to helping find a cure for childhood brain cancer research after his son Jack was diagnosed with brain cancer at age five.

That set up a grand statement of hope on the Big Red stage of Nebraska Memorial Stadium: the child made international news with his unforgettable run with Husker gridders at a NU Spring Game.

The moment garnered an "Espy" award.
