(Undated) -- Ice jams continue to cause issues along parts of the Platte River as the river spilled its banks near Schuyler on Friday.
The most impacted area was on Highway 15, south of Schuyler. According to the National Weather Service, authorities closed down the highway in that area around 6:45 Friday morning.
The NWS says a flood warning in that area was set to expire on Friday, but was extended through Saturday. Paul Fajman with the National Weather Service told KFAB Radio News that ice jams can be incredibly unpredictable, meaning the warning could be extended even further.
On Thursday, Dodge County leaders were advising of potential flooding in low-lying areas later that night in the North Bend area and in the early morning hours Friday around Fremont, asking residents in those areas to prepare in case evacuations were needed without much notice.
