(Omaha, NE) -- Trash collection in Omaha is being suspended on Monday due to forecasted frigid temperatures.
On Friday, Public Works announced that collections would be suspended on Monday, February 15, 2021, due to the forecast of extreme cold and dangerous temperatures, making for unsafe, outdoor working conditions.
City of Omaha and FCC Environmental Services Nebraska say they will continue to monitor and evaluate the forecasted conditions for the remainder of the week.
Collections will be delayed by one day beginning Monday. Monday’s area to be collected on Tuesday, Tuesday’s area to be collected on Wednesday, and so forth for the rest of the week. Residents are asked to make sure that carts are set out by 6 AM on the rescheduled day of collection to insure collection.
Missed collections may be reported to the Solid Waste Hotline at 402-444-5238 after 7:00PM on the rescheduled collection day.
