LPD arrest teen after rolling car, hitting vehicles in dealership lot

(Lincoln, NE) -- A teen was arrested for drunk driving after hitting vehicles in a Lincoln car dealership lot Wednesday morning.

The Lincoln Police Department says around 2:30 AM, officers and Lincoln Fire and Rescue were called to a rollover accident near 56th and O Street. Once on the scene, officers found a Toyota Avalon on its side after hitting two vehicles in the Sid Dillon car lot. Investigators say the Avalon was westbound on O Street when it lost control and hit a curb, causing the vehicle to overturn and continue until hitting the cars in the auto lot.

Police say the driver, a 19 year old man, was uninjured and refused medical attention. LPD says the officer observed that the driver was demonstrating signs of being under the influence and was subjected to field sobriety testing and a preliminary breath test. The driver was then transported for formal testing, where his blood alcohol level tested at nearly twice the legal limit.

The driver was arrested on charges of DUI, MIP and Negligent Driving.
