Omaha man reported missing found dead

(Douglas County, NE) -- An Omaha man who was reported missing on Sunday has been found dead.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says on Tuesday, they were called by a Douglas County landfill employee stating that a deceased person was found near the entrance of their facility in Bennington. The sheriff's office says once deputies were on the scene, they found a white man lying dead on the ground near his vehicle.

DCSO says the man was identified as 75 year old Edward Manheimer, of Omaha. Manheimer had been reported missing by the Omaha Police Department on Sunday. The cause of death is still under investigation, however investigators say foul play is not suspected.

An Endangered Missing Advisory had been issued on Monday for Manheimer. He had last been seen in North Bend around 9:00 Sunday morning. Police say Manheimer suffered from health issues and mild intellectual disabilities, and that Manheimer seemed confused the last time he was seen.
