Drugs and gun found by Nebraska State Patrol in I-80 traffic stop

(Lincoln County, NE) -- A South Carolina man is behind bars in Nebraska, accused of transporting drugs through the state.

The Nebraska State Patrol says around 1:00 Tuesday afternoon, a trooper spotted a Honda Accord speeding on Interstate 80 near Maxwell. The NSP says the trooper pulled the vehicle over and during the traffic stop, became suspicious of criminal activity. Investigators say the trooper searched the vehicle and located 30 pounds of marijuana, as well as smaller amounts of cocaine, ecstasy, psilocybin mushrooms, prescription pills and a concealed handgun.

The state patrol says 34 year old Kenneth Peek, of Lexington, South Carolina, was arrested for four charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana – more than one pound, possession with intent to deliver, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a firearm during a drug violation.
