Investigators say an Omaha Police officer was taken to the hospital to be checked out and should be okay after his cruiser was hit by a jeep around two o'clock Monday morning at 180th and West Center Road.
Police say the jeep driver fled the scene, and a search commenced with help from the Omaha Police helicopter and a Papillion Police K9 unit.
Another person was also hospitalized in serious condition with injuries suffered in the crash.
That intersection in southwest Omaha is open to traffic.
