Douglas County Sheriff's Office identify man found dead in West Omaha home

Douglas County investigators are identifying the man found dead in a Southwest Omaha rental home on Tuesday.

Douglas County Sheriff’s Captain Eric Sellers tells WOWT 6 News that Michael “Mickey” Sodoro, an NP Dodge real-estate agent, was found dead in the home near 193rd Avenue and W Streets, in the Arbor Gate housing development.

The Sheriff's Office says Sodoro had come to the rental home to meet someone, but Sellers said investigators weren’t yet sure whether that person was a suspect in his death.

Sodoro had been reported missing overnight and was found at the rental home during a search by sheriff’s deputies. Captain Sellers says Sodoro's truck was found in a different location.

Investigators were interviewing persons of interest in the case but did not have a suspect in custody, Sellers said. “I think as a general practice we should all, if we’re going to show homes as realtors, you do it in pairs,” he said. “I can’t say there’s a danger to the public, because I don’t know, but do it in pairs until we can get to the bottom of this investigation.”
