Those Killed And Injured In Bellevue "Sonic" Shooting Are Identified

Bellevue Police say the deceased are 22-year old Nathan Pastrana and 28-year old Ryan Helbert.

25-year-old Kenneth Gerner and 18-year-old Zoey Reece Atalig Lujan were injured and are hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, while a fifth victim refused medical treatment.

They are all employees of the restaurant at 1307 Cornhusker Road.

Investigators say 23-year-old Roberto Silva Jr. was booked into the Sarpy County Jail early Sunday morning for two counts of first degree murder and first-degree arson.

Bellevue Police say a U-Haul truck in the parking lot was set ablaze at some point during the attack, and Silva is accused of starting the fire.

Police say Silva bonded out of jail on Friday following his arrest on accusations of identity theft earlier in the week at the same Sonic Drive-in.

According to an affidavit, Silva reportedly used the Sonic app of another person to order $57 worth of food, including a Queso burger, four quarter-pound hamburgers, six quarter-pound double burgers, and 12 corndogs.

Sonic employees alerted police to the “fraudulent activity,” according to the affidavit.

After a short investigation, Silva was arrested and booked into the Sarpy County jail.

Three firearms were taken from Silva at the time, which were still held by police at the time of Saturday night’s shooting.

A Sonic Drive-In spokesperson says Silva is not a current employee and never was.
