Man arrested for threatening woman with chainsaw in racially fueled attack

A Lincoln man is behind bars after police say he threatened a woman during a racially fueled attack.

The Lincoln Police Department says just before 1:45 Saturday afternoon, officers were called to the area of 68th and Aylesworth Ave. for a disturbance call. Investigators say when officers arrived on scene, they met with a 25 year old Black woman and a number of witnesses. Police say the victim told officers she was walking up to her apartment building, approaching the base of the stairs leading to her apartment when a man started a chainsaw at the top of the stairs. The victim told police that the man, 41 year old Daniel Stueck, then revved the chainsaw's engine and yelled, "Get off my property, n*****!” as he walked down the stairs toward her, while swinging the chain saw up and down in a cutting motion.

LPD says the victim ran away screaming as Stueck shouted, “Yeah, you better run!”, followed by additional racial epithets. Investigators say officers contacted Stueck, who explained that Black people have been stealing from him, and that the victim “was guilty because she was black.”

Stueck was arrested for Terroristic Threats, enhanced as a Hate Crime.
