The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services says two inmates have died.

On Friday, NDCS announced the deaths of 70 year old Robert Ward and 59 year old Alan Stack. Prison leaders say Ward died at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution around 10:00 Friday morning. Ward was serving a life sentence on a charge of first degree murder out of Dawson County.

NDCS says Stack died at Bryan Medical Center-West Friday morning. Stack was serving 120 year to life on charges out of Sarpy County that included second degree murder and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony. He was incarcerated at the Nebraska State Penitentiary.

The Department of Corrections say the causes of death for both men have yet to be determined, but that both Stack and Ward were being treated for medical conditions. As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, a grand jury will conduct a investigations into both men's deaths.
