Omaha Police say the shooting happened during a traffic stop Thursday evening at 27th and Harrison Streets.
Investigators say a man was asked to get out of the vehicle, but refused.
As he eventually got out of the car, officers report seeing a weapon, setting off a struggle.
Police say that's when one of the officer’s guns discharged striking the man. He was rushed to a hospital where he died.
A weapon was recovered. There were no other injuries
Three people also in the car have been questioned, and police body cam footage will be reviewed.
