Omaha Firefighters Are Busy In Pre-Dawn Hours

Omaha Fire investigators say unsupervised smoldering incense sticks accidentally cause an early Monday morning apartment fire in northwest Omaha.

The fire was in a basement unit of apartments north of West Maple Road near 112th and Evans.

The fire department was called to the scene around 4:30 a.m., and they did report smoke and flames were visible as they approached the scene.

The apartment is uninhabitable, and the Red Cross is helping residents, who were displaced.
