Covid-19 Causes A Pause In Walk-Ins In One Douglas County Office

Starting Monday, for the second time this year, the Douglas County Health Department will close its Vital Statistics office to walk-in customers because of Covid-19 concerns.

The office in the Omaha-Douglas Civic Center downtown will continue to operate by creating new birth and death certificates.

Certified copies of those vital documents will continue to be available by mail, and there is more information at the website:

Anyone with other requests or questions can call the office at (402) 444-7204.
