Douglas County K-12 schools report 149 cases of COVID-19, an increase of about 20 cases from last week.
The Douglas County Health Department reports that 90 staff members and 59 students have tested positive for the virus.
By the time students with COVID-19 find out they have coronavirus, they've already infected their family and friends.
That's according to Justin Frederick with the Douglas County Health Department, who says that's the reason for the increase in COVID-19 cases in schools.
Frederick says the health department is working closely with the schools.
