Omaha Police say a Friday evening assault outside Kubat Pharmacy near 49th and Center Streets is now a homicide case with a person in custody.
Officers who raced to the scene said 60-year old Carmen Terhaar was found stabbed.
She was taken to a hospital by Omaha Fire paramedics with life-threatening injuries, and has since died.
At the scene, officers arrested her son, 26-year old Alan Terhaar Jr. without incident, and he was booked into Douglas County Corrections for the charges of 1st Degree Murder and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony.
With a person in custody, police say there is no outstanding threat to the public.
