A pursuit suspect is dead following a Wednesday morning crash.
The Nebraska State Patrol says the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash, which happened during pursuit between a Nebraska State trooper and a stolen semi-tractor.
The NSP says around 11:30 Wednesday morning, they received information about a stolen semi-tractor that was eastbound on Van Dorn, just east of Lincoln. The State Patrol says a trooper saw the semi eastbound near 112th and Van Dorn. NSP says the trooper attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled at 80 miles per hour on a gravel road.
The State Patrol says as the vehicle reached 148th street, it failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with the trailer of another semi. They say following the crash, the trooper located the driver of the stolen semi-tractor, who was deceased. The driver of the other semi-tractor was not injured.
The Nebraska State Patrol says they have requested that the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office investigate the incident.
